The Bica funicular, moving uphill and downhill for decades. Initially those who were coming from the docks and markets by the river sat at the wood benches inside, while nowadays are mostly who found it in a top 10 things to do in Lisbon.

On a green patch that was safe from the flames, this was one of the things that was saved. Closing this iteration of Instagram photos of what’s left after this summer’s wildfires for now, I’ll be back to this another time.

I often distrust algorithms that generate best photo lists, but can’t stop thinking on the moments behind these nine photos: the explorations in my own hometown and the rest of the country, my São Tomé exhibit (sadly I wasn’t really there this year), my time at Amsterdam and, of course, the long trip to reach northernmost village of India!!
