On a green patch that was safe from the flames, this was one of the things that was saved. Closing this iteration of Instagram photos of what’s left after this summer’s wildfires for now, I’ll be back to this another time.

Around Christmas most my time was spent in Central Portugal, where I was able to keep following the destruction from this year’s forest fire season.

Starting 2018 by the sea, gotta love Portugal’s mild winters 😎 Hoping a great year for all of you! #sintra #portugal #snapshot
A lazy, rainy Christmas morning, perfect to work on the photo archive.
HOHOHO everyone! 🎅🏼
I often distrust algorithms that generate best photo lists, but can’t stop thinking on the moments behind these nine photos: the explorations in my own hometown and the rest of the country, my São Tomé exhibit (sadly I wasn’t really there this year), my time at Amsterdam and, of course, the long trip to reach northernmost village of India!!

Back home from a quite full weekend at the NatGeo Exodus Aveiro Fest, among lots of talented photographers, both in the stage and the audience. From all the amazing sessions I can’t help to stop thinking those inspire or provoke change: Reza, Mario Cruz, Pete McBride, Akash and Ami Vitale (the last two complemented by insightful masterclasses). Can’t stop thinking this is why it’s worth telling stories. Huge respect for Bernardo Conde and the rest of the team for pulling this off! #festival #ngexodusaveirofest
Starting the day at lovely Aveiro with my mates @fernandocarvalhodasilva, @arturcabral and @jhmaia. This weekend will be entirely dedicate to @ngexodusaveirofest! In between I bet there will time for some snapshots.

Veneration of the dead is a significant part of Catholicism, so easily seen in the cult of saints and relics. That’s why on the first of November, the All Saints day, families remember those who died by lightning a candle, replacing the worn plastic flowers from the previous year and cleaning the dirt from the tombstones. #catholicism #portugal #beiraalta #snapshots
