Three years ago me and @Esiracusaphotos drove North to Braga, the “religious capital” of Portugal, to capture Holy Week ans it’s gloominess. I’m keeping the subject but on a different region: after doing a brief scouting last year at Idanha-A-Nova region, this year I’ll be a bit longer there.  #portugal #easter #holyweek #catholicism(Holy Week, the days before Resurrection)

Sunny Sundays is what happens in between everything else, including when you’re a bit under the weather. Letting the warm sunlight of the Spring yet to come to help me on my next steps, for this timeline and upcoming trips.

A photo book is daunting project that’s I’ve never considered, but have thought about it every once in a while. A workshop could kickstart that, and what I’ve chosen to work with is my collection of football fields, for now named 100x64.Not sure what will be the outcome of this, or even if it will be printed in any form, the main photos is to test with layouts, sequencing and all things related to bringing out the first version of the book project. If all goes well then I’ll work from that one and work on a second one, but for now most of the updates will go to Instagram Stories that will be grouped into that Highlight entry. And why 100x64? It’s the minimum official measures of a football field.

After all the carnival activity, with all the masks and road trips, I feel like Delhi photos are calling me back…#street #travel #india #delhi

At Vila Boa de Ousilhão caretos light stacks of hay, so that they can jump over the flames. Hay causes a causes a big, dramatic fire, but its bonfires burn down quickly. Nevertheless, there’s always time for one last jump over it.

In the last trip to the north of Portugal I ended up finding three or four football fields I love to shot. Now that I think about it, I have cool football fields from the last three or four trips north. I might be able to do a project solely with football fields from Trás-Os-Montes.

I’ll be posting some of the ongoing work from last week, as I go through and process it. Make sure to check it on my Instagram Stories, there’s stuff to see already!

At Vila Boa one of the tricks a careto (young or old) does is throwing flour to whoever crosses their way. This young girl was thinking I wanted to steal her it from her, when what I wanted was to take this shot. After she reluctantly raised her arm, and I got my shot, told her it was now ok to throw that flour on me.

When a seasoned photographer, with great knowledge of the area, warns you that a snowfall is expected between 7:00 and 9:00 all you must do is wake up early and wait for it. That’s what me, João (the cooperative model in the photos), and Nicole did.

Winter really isn’t the best season to go after nature and landscapes at Trás-Os-Montes. Unless you happen to get snowfall, or even beautiful mornings with misty woods covered with ice, you lack the stunning colors of Spring or Autumn. But the truth is that bleak side of the region pleases me a lot.
