My first time seeing and trying to photograph Northern Lights. #iceland
You know you’re not a hard core landscape photographer anymore when the only tripod you bring for Iceland (and Rocky Mountains) is this…
Svarthamarsrétt, one of the many réttir, or to be accurate the second part of it, where the remaining hundreds of sheep that weren’t gathered in the first one earlier in the month (around 5000) are round-up and sorted.🇮🇸 #Svarthamarsrétt #réttir #hvalfjörður #iceland #ísland

Laufskálarétt, the biggest horse round-up in the North. Horses that roam free through the summer are gathered and brought to large corral, where each farmer sorts theirs from the larger group. In between, lots of celebration among the small crowd, with eating, drinking and singing. 🇮🇸 #skagafjörður #laufskálarétt #iceland #island

Morning came with rain and wind, a gentle reminder that Summer has ended and Autumn rapidly is taking its place. The time of the year sheeps are gathered and prepared for slaughter… 🇮🇸 #tröllaskagi #olafsfjordur #iceland #ísland

Tröllaskagi, the troll peninsula tuck in the North of the island. That’s the reason in Ólafsfjörður, the town that’s been my home for a couple of days, you often find trolls painted in the houses, usually related with the person living in them (the one of the photo is from a circus performer). 🇮🇸 #tröllaskagi #olafsfjordur #iceland #island

Moving away from the dramatic cliffs and all the breathtaking stuff that comes with being in Westfjords, moving to the more languid, less exciting but more serene scenery of the Vatnsnes and Skagi peninsulas. 🇮🇸 #vatnsnes #skagi #iceland

Last time I was in Iceland one of the goals was to go one of its hidden gems, that for long was in my mind: the Westfjords. But while there I spent all my time in the dramatic west coast, ignoring the even more forgotten east coast: the Strandir coast. I wasn’t planning driving the Westfjords, but knew I had this one place to go to, one of the most amazing little corners of the island! 🇮🇸 #westfjords #strandir #iceland

A lot of Iceland has to do with driving it.🇮🇸 #iceland #island #fujixe3 #fujifilm #vsco

After my first visit to Iceland people asked me what’s there to see, and I replied with a smile: Nothing! Not that it’s boring and void of interest, but it’s the space, the scale, all the space to breathe.Today while landing and setting foot at Keflavik airport I felt just that again! In the upcoming days I’ll be revisiting all this, follow my stories on Instagram! 🇮🇸
