Nothing beats printing our photos. Here Ime and João Maia are reviewing my Cuba photo, getting ready for the Light Travelers.

Today’s about discovering the Easter and Good Friday traditions of Idanha-a-Nova. But for now I’ll play around with the pretty light. #portugal #beirabaixa

After a few weeks in the lovely Amsterdam, and with a hard-drive loaded with new pictures, I was missing walking on my narrow streets again. Even if the weather matches the Winter we thought had already left behind.

Last days in Amsterdam, a few more commutes before flying home. #amsterdam #commute #androidonly #vsco
The next generation. It’s not just the mask and staff, or the clappers hanging on the colorful costume. This little 3 year old already had all the moves of the grown up. #carnival #entrudo #shrovetide #podence #trasosmontes #fujixt2 #portugal #vsco
More from Northern Portugal’s pre-Christian traditions, this time the Caretos of Podence, the masked figures that run through the streets doing mischiefs and scaring who gets in their way, specially pretty girls. #carnival #caretos #entrudo #shrovetide #podence #trasosmontes #fujixe2 #vsco
A few minutes later, and like everyday, these donkeys were released from their pasture, and do the path they know by heart back to the village. Miranda do Douro. #trasosmontes #landscape #rural #portugal #fujixt2 #vsco

Time to give Amsterdam a break, at least for some days. In the meantime, back to Portugal!

Don’t you love when you can commute by boat? #street #amsterdam #androidonly #street #vscocam
Busy day, and long walks, yesterday. And with plenty of Stories to see.
Yes, I’m still in Amsterdam 😉
Trás-Os-Montes is my favorite corner of Portugal, because of its welcoming and frontal people, meaty food and a kind of rough beauty that I like a lot. It has a way to show you that rough beauty, but in a peculiar way, when you least expect (that’s why it’s a great playground for my football fields project archive.joaoalmeidaphotography.com/index/G00…). Looking back after returning from another trip North, this one was one of that moments, when we stopped on a cold morning for our morning dose of caffeine. The cafe had an unusual large window, a single window to the street, and the view something was peculiar, to say the least.
And I’m back! #portugal #trasosmontes #caretos

Having a moment to enjoy my Iceland photos hanging at the very cool Atlas Hostel at Leiria. Photo brilliantly captured by João Maia.
