As the fresh memories from Iceland start to fade away I’m slowly returning to the random walks in my city, but also looking back to the photos taken in the rest of this summer, as the days slip into winter.Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹, June-September 2021#lisbon #portugal

What do you do when you have northern lights above your head, but no tripod (as if I carry tripods anywhere these days…) nor a pretty foreground to write home about? Do whacky stuff handheld, I guess…#aurora #auroraborealis #northernlights #iceland

Avoiding the 1. There’s a common traveler’s misconception that the Route 1 is the only road in the island, probably fueled by the countless “ultimate road trip” posts found in almost every travel site. But in each return I been trying avoid that road as much as possible, aiming for the less busy routes, with the obvious consequence of finding myself driving gravel much more often. Going after the slow-paced, sometimes boring, bucolic and lonely stuff that does catch my eye. #iceland

Back to the réttir. In my last Iceland trip one of my goals was to capture them, the sheep roundups at the end of the summer, but an airline left me stranded halfway and that plan partially failed. This time, and despite the main goal being hiking the Laugavegur trail, I could not ignore that September is réttir month, so I went back for them!#réttir #iceland

Fourteen years ago I took a turn with my Toyota Yaris towards Þórsmörk, quickly to find out that it wasn’t the vehicle suited to reach it. So I turned back… Every time I returned I always wanted properly reach the Icelandic highlands, specially Þórsmörk, but for many reasons things always went another way. That was until now, and what probably is the most magnificent way to reach it: walking with friends all the way from Landmanalaugar and letting it appear in front of my eyes as we passed over the last hill of the hike.#iceland #thorsmork
Hiking the 54km between Landmanalaugar and Þórsmörk, the Laugavegur trail. From the colorful hills to the lush valleys, along with snowy peaks and lunar landscapes. Between effort of the steep climbs or the moments of awe for the epic scenery upon us. Between the coziness of the shelters and the harshness of the elements. #iceland #laugavegur #laugavegurtrail

Early rise for a for a long bus ride, and the last motor vehicle trip in the the upcoming week. #iceland
Cruise ship day in the Golden Circle. Having fun in the more beaten path of Iceland, before the fun begins in the highlands!#iceland #goldencircle #thingvellir #gulfoss

So, since everybody is annoyed with Instagram (me included) and looking for alternatives, and Vero has been one of those. So I went back to my old account, just to check it out. Won’t guarantee I’ll stick around, but for now meet me there! vero.co/t3mujin

About last week, neither the purpose nor the mood was photography, but regardless not being the best season for photos (or anything other than doing nothing) it’s always nice to return to Trás-Os-Montes!
Prisma, the video installation by Alexandre Farto (a.k.a. Vhils) on MAAT sure makes neat photos! #vhils #lisbon #portugal

A pinch of Lisbon’s summer. Days have been hot lately, and despite I haven’t really been keen on capturing it on camera I’ve been looking at my archive, so it made sense to share some summer shots from the last couple of years I had waiting in my drive.

Yay… A #selfie… Wandering for hidden gems near my second home. #portugal #beirabaixa
In the past week I’ve sharing hand-picked photos of Holy Week in Portugal and Spain from past years, but I was also able to snap some shots also. Here’s a sneak preview, more to follow!

Some casual Sunday shots around Vila de Rei with João Ferreira de Figueiredo, as we happened to be around for the weekend (the proof that this part of the country is the place to be). The big thing here is that these were taken with his Leica Q2! Minimal processing here, straight from the RAW with minimal adjustments, because I was test driving the camera and mostly because it was Sunday and I wasn’t in the mood for more than that. #leicaq2

Just some casual Sunday shooting…Photo by João Ferreira de Figueiredo
Going through the photos from this year’s Carnival, with the long delay I tend to get my work done these days. It was the first time since the start of pandemic I was able to go back to the masked festivals of Northern Portugal (and this year, Spain also) I’ve been shooting in the recently. It was nice to go back to back to places and rituals I’m now starting to know well, to shoot side by side with some of my mates, meet again familiar faces. It felt nice, it really did. That’s it for the cheesy intermission. The “real” photos will follow. Eventually…#entrudo #entroido #laza #manzaneda #vilaboa #vinhais #trasosmontes #galicia #portugal #spain

Pretty light, silly shadow selfie…
Weekend strolls to unlikely, and not that pretty, places… #lisbon #portugal
