On The Go

Quick picks and previews, taken with the phone or processed with the phone, usually while travelling but also random moments from everyday routine.

Certainly no shortage of vibrant colors while hiking the woods around Manteigas today, despite that its peak has already passed and big part of the leaves are already fallen in the ground, which I kind of prefer becausd it’s slightly more subtle than the overdose of peak colors. #trekking #hiking #portugal #serradaestrela

Earlier this week I posted about the joy of driving empty mountain roads, hiking a narrow path in the woods, all by yourself, and not finding anyone on the way feels a lot similar!#trekking #hiking #portugal

Some pretty colors to go along with this season, with its reds, yellows and oranges that make us feel so warm and cozy waiting for the cold that’s starting to embrace us! Except all that these were taken way before Autumn arrives…Sertã and Oleiros, Portugal 🇵🇹, August 2020 #forestfires #portugal #beirabaixa

There’s an immense joy of driving curvy, secondary roads, specially mountain roads. Something I haven’t done fora while.

Autumn in Portugal nowadays looks a lot like this: an empty stage and dark clouds, although here there’s some bright light in the horizon… #serradalousã #portugal

In the last few days the skyes were heavy and gloomy, filled with dark clouds, a storm that doesn’t seem to fade away. The forecast for the upcoming week is more forgiving, we shall see if that holds or not… #beirabaixa #portugal #fujixt3 #snapseed

Not your usual pretty photo of Portugal’s landscape, like a swing and a gorgeous view with an inspiring, but rather empty, quote like every other influencer does. But this is Portugal nevertheless, and something typical of this time of year. #beirabaixa #portugal #fujixt3 #snapseed

“Alminhas.Small shrine where people can stop briefly to leave a prayer and sometimes a small coin for the souls of those who have already gone. Usually placed by a road or pathway, sometimes in a settlement or at a crossroads, but often in the middle of an empty stretch of country road, or at the top of a hill or mountain. It is also frequent to find a burning candle or lamp, or even other offerings like flowers.”This one fits perfectly the definition: standing at the top of a hill, in the middle of nowhere, by a crossroad, like so many others in the region, and feeling particularly eerie today with the thick fog that today covered one of my backyard photography spots. I didn’t say a prayer or leave a coin, but being November 1st I did save a thought for the dead… #beirabaixa #portugal #fujixt3 #snapseed

When you go out after work and your homies are shooting some hoops…#fujixe2 #fuji_xseries #street #lisbon #portugal #snapseed

The seasons of the year aren’t defined by a day someone has marked in a calendar but by the cycles of nature, and that’s something that a pandemic won’t change. In this atypical year my summer was spent on and off my retreat in Central Portugal, a season that starts when I’m able to pick cherries from the trees (that were fully ripe in late May when I left Lisbon after two months of confinement) and ends when the last grapes are picked from the vineyards. Which was this weekend… #portugal #beirabaixa #fujifilm_xseries #vindima
