Work straight out of the oven.
A pinch of Lisbon’s summer. Days have been hot lately, and despite I haven’t really been keen on capturing it on camera I’ve been looking at my archive, so it made sense to share some summer shots from the last couple of years I had waiting in my drive.

Some casual Sunday shots around Vila de Rei with João Ferreira de Figueiredo, as we happened to be around for the weekend (the proof that this part of the country is the place to be). The big thing here is that these were taken with his Leica Q2! Minimal processing here, straight from the RAW with minimal adjustments, because I was test driving the camera and mostly because it was Sunday and I wasn’t in the mood for more than that. #leicaq2

Going through the photos from this year’s Carnival, with the long delay I tend to get my work done these days. It was the first time since the start of pandemic I was able to go back to the masked festivals of Northern Portugal (and this year, Spain also) I’ve been shooting in the recently. It was nice to go back to back to places and rituals I’m now starting to know well, to shoot side by side with some of my mates, meet again familiar faces. It felt nice, it really did. That’s it for the cheesy intermission. The “real” photos will follow. Eventually…#entrudo #entroido #laza #manzaneda #vilaboa #vinhais #trasosmontes #galicia #portugal #spain

Weekend strolls to unlikely, and not that pretty, places… #lisbon #portugal

Lisbon’s old neon signs in a colorful exhibit in a parking lot. Just like every instagrammer in town, I add to go there, actually more than once. And because it’s near home might go there again before it closes.

Kicking off 2022 with something plain and simple, a cliche: pretty sunsets.

Winter Solstice is upon us. This year I was hoping that by now I’d be getting ready to head north and return to the winter traditions of Trás-Os-Montes, but pandemic screwed the plans yet again. Surely I’ll miss the fun that comes with it (more on that in another day), but I’ll also miss this: that region’s naked scenery under the dark and short days, that suits this season’s introspection and inner self much better. Autumn wanderings in Lisbon’s downtown. The city is full of hills, so when you don’t have place you want go it’s easy to end up down by the river… Should’ve taken care of my Xmas shopping while I was there. #lisbon #portugal www.flickr.com/photos/t3…

Small stories you find when you decide to wander after work… Funny how mid workweek walks pulls your attention to different things.#lisbon #portugal

Organizing my hard drive and clearing out the not shared, for some reason, photos done in the last summer months, now that winter and cold seems to have settled for good around here. This batch is Lisbon’s east side, nearby where I live, where I often out out and chill and many of those time I bring the camera along. www.flickr.com/photos/t3…
