    Flashback to that bus trip to Leh

    Going back to the tons of stuff in my archive, this time to that bus trip that took me to Leh in 2017: a 16-hour bumpy ride through the rugged mountains of northern India, which span much of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, with a couple of mountain passes above 5000m along the road.

    One of the most epic trips I’ve made, definitely worth telling in more detail one of these days! But for now here’s a glimpse of it.

    From last weekend, not quite going out on a dedicated photo walk, more like taking photos while running my errands, but feels good to wander after light and shadow on sunny days

    April 25th, the day that celebrates the Carnation Revolution — the day Portugal takes to the streets and throws “freedom” into the air. Like last year, and the years before, I made sure to join the thousands out in the streets here in Lisbon.

    A bit of randomness from the past few weeks, where the only thing in common is that none of these photos is related with the project that grabbed my attention for months, not even taken in the same region. The fact all that shifted into the process of editing and setting up the exhibit that’s now live (see what I did here?) kind of let my eye look elsewhere.

    Meanwhile, the Masterclass exhibit with mine and my colleagues projects will remain at Narrativa in Lisbon until April 18.

    Between my ongoing photo project and an exhausting end of year in general, I haven’t been doing a lot of more casual, candid snaps. Usually plenty of these are done in my commutes and random daily chores in town, but even that hasn’t happened as often. And yet, I was able to do some.

    Life happening in front of you when you’re heading somewhere.

    The developer in me, the one with the day job, went to a big and shiny developer conference last week, with plenty of keynotes, demos and presentations of Outsystems, the platform I’ve been working for some years. But the photographer in me couldn’t stay at home, especially now that I’m back in having a truly pocketable camera. I tend not to talk about gear often, but the Ricoh GR really is the perfect everyday carry!
