Just Processed

Work straight out of the oven.

Slowly pushing processed photos to my online archive (a.k.a. Flickr), like this big batch from a trip to Madeira a couple of years ago, including the mandatory photos at Fanal.

August in a handful of photos. Without any particular meaning, in no given order, just picking a bit of everything. Sometimes you feel nothing remarkable has happened, until you look back and actually find some cool bits here and there.

A colorful inflatable ring floats in a swimming pool.A woman in a green dress pulls a yellow suitcase through a crowded market or street area.Three scooters are parked in stands against a brick wall.Passengers are seated and standing inside a moving train, with sunlight streaming through the windows.A small dog sniffs a pair of purple slippers on a tiled floor near a body of water.Sunlight illuminates a concrete stairway framed by walls with graffiti, leading out to a bright area surrounded by foliage.A woman pushing a child in a stroller walks on a city sidewalk near a bank named Banco Montepio.Various fake designer handbags are displayed on a table covered with an orange and white cloth, set against a backdrop of trees and buildings.A footpath in a grassy area features a tilted pedestrian sign for adults with children, surrounded by sparse trees and distant apartment buildings.A red plastic bowl containing blood is on the ground next to a knife with a red-stained blade, surrounded by splatters and a white feather.A black Audi station wagon is parked on a cobblestone street in front of a building covered in colorful graffiti. Two glass bottles wrapped in wicker are placed in front of an intricately designed brick wall. Two glasses of cider and a camera sit on a wooden outdoor table with people in the background.

A Summer Sunday in the city… In the middle of August… You can’t get more calm and laid than this, in a very slow and sleepy way.
Another of those photowalks me and Luís do in less obvious places, often the best ones.

A serene park scene features people relaxing on the grass and others boating on a calm pond, surrounded by tall palm trees.A glass of beer is on a wooden table outdoors, accompanied by a bowl, a water bottle, a coffee cup, and a pigeon nearby.A pile of discarded wooden boards and shoes is stacked on a cobblestone street near a graffiti-covered dumpster, with a pigeon perched on top.A sandy outdoor soccer field with a goalpost is viewed through a chain-link fence, surrounded by trees under a clear sky.Three electric scooters are parked beside a brick wall on a sunny day.A small aircraft is flying in the sky near a large building with multiple windows.A concrete staircase leads up between high walls, partially shaded by overhanging leaves.A person rides a bicycle past modern buildings with large windows and a small sidewalk.People are sitting at outdoor tables under umbrellas, enjoying the sunny weather, with a few pigeons nearby.A person is silhouetted against light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Catching up with some of the stuff I still hadn’t posted around here, all from my random walks around Lisbon.

Em tempos estranhos como estes, gritar liberdade é cada vez mais importante.E que dia bonito foi hoje!

    Bits from Bairro Alto.

In stormy Sundays you can always go back to the stuff you have from sunny days, like just a week ago.

Just photowalking in sunny a December Saturday.

Still from this weekend’s Bairro do Grilo, or Bairro das Artes: a showcase of how a arts could fill an empty and abandoned industrial complex in Lisboa. Hopefully won’t be a single event…

Still from last weekend, there wasn’t much time for proper street photography, but one that carries a camera always ends up shooting some snaps.

Once again at Amplifest, and like the last ones, had a camera with me. Once again, no photos of bands performing or crowds enjoying the music, but that vibe in between shows, with everyone chilling and moving between the two rooms. Just like myself.

Having some fun with other people’s commutes. The dark that comes with shorter days creates the perfect mood for lingering a bit longer in train stations.

Doing a clean-up on the backlog, unprocessed photos from the last six months or so. From Lisbon and around. More to follow!

Going out to the streets to shoot means that you tend to go to the same spots, which is also nice, but sometimes you want to avoid those. That’s why me and my mates went for something different last Saturday… In the flattest and dullest light possible…

    There goes the weekend…

The masks were back in Lisbon! For some time it was kind of a tradition to have masked group coming from all parts of the world for FIMI (Festival Internacional da Máscara Ibérica), with the big moment being the parade that happened downtown. It has been on hold for some years, until last weekend. It’s far from being the same as seeing the authentic thing, but having all these together in the same location, and honestly a bit out of place, makes always interesting photos. And you are able to see familiar faces in your hometown! #fimi #desfileinternacionaldamascaraiberica #lisboa #portugal

The randomness from the last week or so, out and about Lisbon.

After the weeks in the Balkans, between fun kitsch of the cities and the imposing peaks of the mountains, it’s time ti hit back the streets in my hometown.

I have a really long backlog of unprocessed photos, but sometimes I actually do process them but end up not doing anything with them. Not sharing, not posting online, nothing. Until a day like today, where I decide to pick those random, disconnected shots and decide to make a post with them. To not make this even more random, these are just shots taken in Lisbon, in the last year… or maybe more…
