In Action
Behind the scenes and the occasional selfie.
The swirly incense sticks are a cliché, but one too good to ignore. Today is had the pleasure to have my bro, and currently a Macau local, Fernando to do some behind the scenes for me!
Camino de Santiago
Two years ago I started planning to do the Portuguese Way pf the Camino de Santiago, but “chickened out” thinking I wasn’t ready for it. I ended up spending those days at Trás-Os-Montes (probably my favorite region in Portugal), assuming I’d left the Camino behind for a while. I quickly found out that wasn’t the case, as I discovered I was right in a route that goes through the Montesinho Natural Park (later found out it’s an alternative to the Silver Route that joins the Sanabrese Way). I don’t believe in signs, but this has been a small motivation ever since. This year was the time to finally do it, and Ana Morais and João Eugénio joined me in it. Slowly and steady we managed to walk the 160km from Ponte de Lima to Santiago de Compostela, sit down in the middle of Praza do Obradoiro and stare at the cathedral’s “gigantuous” facade while thinking about what we had done! And I couldn’t stop thinking I’d wanted to keep walking all the way to the coast, to Muxia. Throughout last week I picked some shots for each day, but also shared lots of fragments on Instagram Stories. If you missed some, or want to see all of them again, I grouped all my Camino stories here: www.instagram.com/stories/h… #camino #caminodesantiago
This week, while walking the Camino de Santiago, it’s all about the weight: I’ll be carrying all my stuff, between clothes, gear and some snacks. So when I was packing able to keep the total weight of my bag below 7 kg, and for that I needed to keep my gear minimal. This is all all be carrying (besides batteries and cards):- Fuji X-E3, my lightest body- XF 18mm and XF 27mm, my lightest lenses
Last June, somewhere in the Arada Mountains in, Central Portugal. Photo by @esiracusaphotos.
It was time to sit down for some rest, and have a well deserved beer last June in the “Magic Mountains”, when @esiracusaphotos played a bit with one of my camera
Back on the road for some days with my mate @esiracusaimages, we’re after some of the hidden corners of the so called “Magic Mountains” of Portugal. #portugal #arouca #serradafreita
This is what you get when you put too many Fuji geeks in the same place!! It was a tiring but cool day with the FujiXFocus group along with @Fujifilm_PT at the Douro Valley, trying new gear and tasting port wine! You can check some of today’s updates on Instagram Stories: www.instagram.com/t3mujin/.

In the last trip to the north of Portugal I ended up finding three or four football fields I love to shot. Now that I think about it, I have cool football fields from the last three or four trips north. I might be able to do a project solely with football fields from Trás-Os-Montes.

Looking fierce and might on top of that rock! Or then again, maybe not… 😂 Great times at Picos de Europa, here at one of my favorite places: Lake Ercina. Photo by João Maia
Today’s office at my retreat, working on the stuff from recent trips to the north of Portugal and Spain. There are are still some snapshots from both trips waiting to be uploaded, expect those in my instagram feed in the next days.
Ever since I bought my first piece of Fuji gear I was waiting for this. I always wanted a light and small street wide lens, the classic full frame 35mm that some many masters love to use. But with the Fuji X100 hardly believed it would happen, and the existing 23mm is beautiful but a bit too much on the heavy side for me. Now, with new range of small lenses here it is, even if it’s not the pancake-ish lens I would love still is good enough for me.
