There’s a common traveler’s misconception that the Route 1 is the only road in the island, probably fueled by the countless “ultimate road trip” posts found in almost every travel site.But in each return I been trying avoid that road as much as possible, aiming for the less busy routes, with the obvious consequence of finding myself driving gravel much more often. Going after the slow-paced, sometimes boring, bucolic and lonely stuff that does catch my eye. #iceland
